If there’s one thing that makes ManifestWorks special, it’s the team of industry pros that share their best in ways that allow our participants to shine.
On Saturday, the 34 ManifestWorks participants kicked off a new session with a bright welcome from 72AndSunny, an LA-based global advertising agency hosting the class.
The ManifestWorks curriculum starts at the beginning. Because the arc of commercial production commences at an ad agency with a client, our host, 72’s Director of Production Kate Morrison, explained the process, spelling out all the work that happens before our participants ever end up on set as production assistants, getting a start to new careers.
Mentors like Kate bring immersive learning to life, “ManifestWorks is fantastic and we at 72andSunny are so happy to contribute. We are honored to meet new talent and help set them up to succeed in the production workforce. I hope the next several weeks are as strong as this first day.” Putting our class at the center of the 72andSunny campus gives everyone a chance to experience the world of production just as they will experience it on the job.
Watching our participants understand that the army of strangers joining class are actually there as mentors and cheerleaders is the first step in their professional transformation. Each session we are in awe of the production companies, studios and individuals who host our classes and give our participants their first chance at earning a living wage. And our champions, from individuals to large corporations, share resources that allow us to change lives.
As we start our 11th cohort, the biggest change for ManifestWorks is how our partners bring formidable resources to scaffold and support those impacted by foster care, homelessness and incarceration. As we serve more people, we have ramped up to build a bigger team with more partners to do so: We are so grateful to the more than 40 job partners and 100s of individual volunteers who are committed to sharing this opportunity.
